October includes the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary as one of the Church’s most celebrated feast days. Traditionally, though, the entire month of October has offered Catholics an opportunity to rededicate themselves to this powerful form of prayer in Christian life. To observe this dedication as a parish, starting Saturday October 2, we will have an opportunity to pray the Rosary as a community at the statue of Our Lady at St. Stanislaus Church. We will gather at 12pm for the Rosary on October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. There is no need to sign up. All are welcome to join us for this time of prayer for divine help and protection. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!
"In the weeks, ahead I shall meet with those priests of the Diocese of Worcester who celebrate, with my permission, the Extraordinary Form and discuss the sound implementation of “Traditionis Custodes.”
The presentations on the Mass as the Church's school of prayer continue this week. Thursday 29 July will see the next installment of Fr. Martineau's lessons on the subject. Join us in the lower hall of the Church of St. Paul at 6pm for and delve into the development of the Mass, its structure, and how these elements are steeped in prayerfulness if only we know what they seek to accomplish, as well as how to engage them. Refreshments will be available during a brief pause in the presentation. The lesson should last until 7:45, including the pause. Please contact the office if you have any questions or require certain accommodations. Should you be able, please alert the office of your intention to attend so that enough materials may be printed and distributed that evening. We look forward to having you join us!
On Wednesday 7 July, 2021, at 6:30pm, Fr. Martineau will offer a presentation on the Mass as a model for Chrisitan prayer. Many wonder how they ought to pray or if their prayer counts as prayer at all. To delve more deeply into the meaning of prayer we look to the Mass. This present series seeks to give a survey of the Mass in its history, its structure, its meaning, and, above all, its pedagogy to inform all Christian prayer. The presentation will take about an hour and fifteen minutes, including a break for refreshments. Any questions may be directed to the office at (413) 436-7327 or [email protected] . Access for those with mobility limitations may be facilitated via the ground-level doors on the School Street side of the church. A RSVP is not required though it is helpful to ensure enough materials are available.
Thanks to the rising number of vaccinations and falling COVID cases, Bishop McManus has reinstated the obligation of the faithful to attend Sunday Mass and Mass on holy days of obligation. This obligation will be reinstated effectively on June 6, 2021, the Feast of Corpus Christi.
If you are vaccinated you no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance from others. If you are not vaccinated or prefer to take certain precautions, the CDC and Commonwealth direct you to wear a mask and distance from others outside your household. Thank you for your collaboration!
A reminder that Adoration of the most Blessed Sacrament will take place for the summer at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Daily Mass for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will also be transferred to that location.
We are fortunate enough to have a group of prayer warriors in our parishes. The Prayer Line seeks to help the needs of the community through their prayers...
– We have a bit of an update to report. The gatherings originally scheduled for June 2 and 3 this week have to be rescheduled in light of some recent developments. Once new dates are available, we will be sure to inform you. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Would you consider naming your parish as a beneficiary in your will? Your gift will mean that you share in the continued work of preaching the Gospel and assisting those in need.
